jachtopziender, bosbewaarder, is op gewelddadige manier om het leven gekomen. Hij is vermoord in de bossen bij Amersfoort gevonden:

Op 26-06-1697 leggen Francois Waleth en Jannetje Jans voor de schout de Hr. Mr. Jan Frederick Teeckman een verklaring af dat zij op een dag in Augustus 1696 bedreigd zijn geworden door twee mannen waarbij het leek of ze hem, Francois, van het leven wilde beroven. Op 09-10-1702 wordt Francois Valeth, provisionele bosbewaarder der Bossen gelegen in de vrijheid van de Stad Amersfoort. Op 10-05-1706 wordt de aanstelling geautoriseerd tot wederopzegging en wederom op 26-09-1707 gecontinueerd. Dinsdag 27-09-1707 is, aldus een verklaring van soone Jan Franssen, afgelegd op 02-10-1707, zijn vader uitgegaan als jager en bosbewaarder, mede nemend zijn snaphaan, bajonet en weijtas, alsmede zijn hond en is sindsdien niet meer thuisgekomen. Op die Zondag, 02-10-1707, heeft men het lichaam van zijn vader opgegraven "dood ende vermoort sijnde sijn hooft bijnaar aff ende maar aan een stuckje vande huijd vast".
