"Harmka Simonton Harmka Simonton, age 97, a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake and formerly of Gary, passed away February 17, 1991 at the Center. She was born November 6, 1893 at Buffalo Center, Iowa, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. HenrySleaper. As a young woman she moved with her parents to Deuel County, SD. She was united in marriage to Tolliver Simonton on November 26, 1913 in Deuel County, SD. After their marriage they farmed for many years near Gary, moving into town in 1965. Her husband passed away in 1967. Harmka entered the Good Samaritan Center in 1980. She was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gary. Survivors include a son, Melvin of Gary; a daughter, Dorothy of Estelline; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she waspreceded in death by one son, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her parents, four sisters and six brothers. Funeral services were held on February 21, 1991 at 1 pm in the Good Samaritan Center Chapel with Rev. Bruce Mueller officiating. Submitted by Ray Wiese
