Howard E. Grimm, 94, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Heritage Park. He was born on June 5, 1912 to Elmer E. and Anna C. (Vollmer) Grimm and raised in Wauseon, Ohio until moving to Fort Wayne in 1997.

He graduated from Wauseon High School on May 28, 1930. He was inducted into the Army on March 5, 1942 and served in Germany during World War II. He was united in marriage on February 8, 1947 to Evelyn Norris who proceeded him in death on May 13, 1995. He was also proceeded in death by a younger brother, Clyde. He retired from the postal service on December 30, 1977 after 31 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Christ at Georgetown and previously The First Christian Church in Wauseon. He was also a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge #349 of Wauseon, a member of Rural Carriers of Ohio where he served as chaplain for four years, a member of NARFE where he also served as chaplain, and a life member of the Pettisville Legion #445. Previously he was a member of the Fulton County Men's Garden Club and Wauseon Kiwanis. He also volunteered at Parkview Hospital for several years. In early days, he enjoyed working in his half of an acre of garden, growing vegetables and giving them away.

Survivors include his daughter, Beverly (Randy) Reincke of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Shaun and Chad Reincke of Fort Wayne, Shayna (Kevin) Shelly of Bonita Springs, Florida, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by a sister, Louise Gardiner of Jackson, Michigan and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews..

Funerals services will be 11 A.M. Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, with Pastor David F. Altman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Wauseon Cemetery.
