Dennis E. Petersen, age 64, of Huron died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at his residence.

His funeral service will be 10am on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home; or one hour prior to the funeral service.

Dennis E Petersen, son of Ada and Leonard Petersen. He was born March 6th, 1951 in Huron, SD. He grew up in the Huron area and attended Huron high school until the 10th grade. He was an avid mechanic and ran Petersen Auto for 28 years. He was always tinkering with something. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family.

He survived by his 6 children, Todd Petersen of Huron SD, Amy Remer of Aberdeen, Katie Voneye of Brookings, Rick (Mindy) Lahay of Cedar Rapid IA, Keith (Casie) Petersen, of Huron SD and Amanda (Kai) Dennis if Rapid City SD; 7 grandchildren; one brother, Glen Petersen, of Huron SD; 3 sisters Marge Walten of Clarksvillle, TN, Marilyn Eastvold of Grimms, IA and Carloyn Petersen of Huron SD.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents Ada and Leonard Petersen; His grandparents Adolph and Katie Pieschke and GH and Hilda Petersen, Aunts, Uncles and one Nephew.
