Frances Schriever, 93, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home, Viborg.

Frances Pauline Simmensen was born on October 23, 1917 at Centerville, SD, the daughter of Soren and Pauline (Rist) Simmensen.

She attended Turner County rural school District #58.

On August 4, 1934 she was united in marriage to George F. Schriever in Sioux Falls.

They farmed in Turner County, mostly in the Hurley-Davis area. They retired into Davis and her husband died on May 13, 1994.

Frances was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Davis. She grew up and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, rural Centerville. She loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed going for walks and raising flowers. Later she became a member of the Davis Senior Citizens, enjoyed music, embroidery and traveling with friends.

Besides her parents and husband, George, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Simmensen; two sisters: Ardell Ryden and Lila Nelson; daughter-in-law: Judy Schriever; son-in-law: Mark Kappenman and a grandson-in-law: Travis Thomas.

Grateful for having shared her life are her seven children: Gary (Patricia) Schriever, Sioux Falls, Lee (Darlene) Schriever, Hurley, Darlene (Don) Stewart, Ramona, Pearl (Jerry) Kellen, Alton,IA, Rose (Gordon) Gause, Yankton, Linda (Kim) Richman, Hastings, NE and George Schriever, Jr., Sioux Falls; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grand-children and one sister: Dorothy (Nick) Boccumini, Palm Springs, CA; plus several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15 at Bethel Reformed Church, Davis with burial to follow at the Turner County First Presbyterian Cemetery.
