"Heman O., son of William and Mary Porter, was born May 2, 1865, and departed this life, November 23, 1938, having attained the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 21 days. He was one of a family of 15 children, seven of whom preceeded him tothe 'Home Eternal'. On May 2, 1888, he was united in marriage with Rose Pelton, and this union was blessed with four children, 2 of whom, with the mother preceeded their father in death. He reared one adopted son, Mr Harold Porter (Bebee)and two neices, Mrs Nanna (Nina) Coleman, and Mrs Alice Flora (Flory), giving to them the love and care of a father. His entire life was spent in Fulton County. In 1894 he with his wife united with the North Dover church of the UnitedBrethen in Christ, under the preaching of Elder J.W. Lilly. On September 28, 1901, he was united in marriage with Lila May Redding, who loving and tenderly cared for him through his last illness. He leaves to mourn his loss, Mrs. LauraBlaskey, and Mrs. Edith Crout of Wauseon. One son, Harold Porter, of Morenci, Michigan, 8 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Emma Viers, Mrs Addie Viers, and Mrs Cora King of Wauseon. Four brothers, O.N. Porter of Wauseon, T.J. Porter of Delta,Charles Porter of Morenci, Michigan, and Harve Porter of St Helen, Michigan. Buried in Salsbury Cemetery."
