Melvin Lavern Langfitt, 79, of Fairfield, Virginia died Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Augusta Health.

Born July 9, 1940 in Grand Junction, Iowa, he was the son of the late Loyd Langfitt and Hazel Foltz Langfitt.

He served his country in the U. S. Navy.

He was currently working at a Rockbridge County recycling center.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Faye Langfitt; children, Mitch Langfitt, Michelle DeHart, Diana Langfitt, Dawn Crews, J.R. Langfitt, Angela Swecker and Robert Breeden; 20 grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren.
