ELDEST SON OF DEACON THOMAS JUDD. -, THIRD GENERATION.
2. William Judd, eldest son of Deac. Thomas Judd, married Mary Steele, daughter of John Steele, of Farmington, March 30, 1658. He died at Farmington, in the latter part of the year 1690. The inventory of his estate was presented to the Court, Nov. 5, 1690. He had in lands and buildings .£495 and in personal estate ¦£198, making £693. This was an ample estate for those days, and it appears by the church record, that "not many of the brethren with us have so large accommodations as himself." His age at the time of his decease, was between 54 and 57. He was usually called Sergeant William Judd. His widow, Mary, died Oct. 27, 1718, aged about 80.

Children.
The births are not recorded, and only four baptisms, viz.,
Mary and Elizabeth, July 22, 1660,
Thomas, Oct. 13, 1662,
William, January 8, 1665.
Elizabeth and William died young.

The names and ages of the children, as returned with the inventory, Nov. 1690, were : — Mary, aged 32, Thomas, 27, John, 23, Rachel, 20, Samuel, 17, Daniel, 15, Elizabeth, 12. According to this probate record, the years of their birth were nearly as follows :

10 Mary, born 1658. Married Abel Janes of Northampton,
Nov. 14, 1679. Removed to Lebanon, Conn., with several children.
11 Thomas, born 1663.
12 John, b. 1667.
13 Rachel, b. 1670. Died unmarried 1703. Gave her property to her relatives by will.
14 Samuel, born 1673.
15 Daniel, b. 1675.
16 Elizabeth, b. 1678. Was living 1718, unmarried.
