Sherian Gust, age 67, of Alexandria, died August 16, at her residence.

Sherian was born on July 22, 1939, in Mitchell, to Laurence and Veona (Leischner) Johnston. She graduated from Alexandria High School where she was valedictorian of her class.

Sherian was united in marriage to Larry Dean Gust on September 2, 1961. She was employed at the Security State Bank of Alexandria and was later employed by Hanson High School in 1978. She retired from Hanson High School in 2006 after 28 years of employment.

Sherian's aspiration for each of her children was educational success and happiness in life. She wasn't comfortable with extended travel or inclement weather but she thrived and lived vicariously through each of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Del (Jody) Gust, Sioux Falls, Robbyn (Larry) Schmitt, Mitchell, Tammy (David) Folden, Rosemount, MN, Jason (Gail) Gust, Scottsdale, AZ, and Troy (Sheila) Gust, Shawnee, KS and their father, Larry Gust, Huron, SD; ten grandchildren: Tory Rosenkranz, Briana Gust, Krista Gust, Mandy Schmitt, Chantel, Ashley, and Travis Folden, Christian Gust and Chase and Carter Gust; sisters, Judy (John) Thompson and Linna (Bill) Johnston Simpson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Terrence "Mouse" Gust.

Sherian Gust, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother__ her unexpected passing has left her family at grief's door but we embrace the knowledge of her reunion with her parents and her beloved son, Mouse.

Funeral services at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Will Funeral Chapel.
