Preston was born on November 13, 1943 and passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Preston was a resident of Eagle River, Alaska at the time of passing. Preston graduated from East High School in 1962, where he met his wife Evelyn. All are welcome to attend The Celebration of Life held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Odd Man Rush Brewery in Eagle River.

"Preston Ross Johnson Anchorage, Alaska November 13, 1943 - March 30, 2019

Preston Ross Johnson of Eagle River, AK passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2019 from Leukemia at the age of 75.

Preston was born on November 13th, 1943 in Monahans, Texas to Milford (Johny) Johnson and Sallye Reed. They brought their family to Eagle River, Alaska to Home-stead in 1952. Preston graduated from East High School in 1962, where he met his wife Evelyn. They were married on August 25, 1967. Making their home in Eagle River where they raised their 4 children.

Preston worked for and retired from, Alaska State Housing Authority for 33 years. During summers, Preston and his sons would commercial fish at Ivan River. After retirement, Preston and Evelyn split their time living between Alaska and Las Vegas. In the summer months, they enjoyed time with their family at Peterson Bay.

Preston is survived by his wife of 51 years, Evelyn Johnson, daughter, Ginger Johnson, sons, Ross and his wife Heather Johnson, Aaron and his wife Robin Johnson and Kurt and wife Katie Johnson, all of Eagle River.

Preston has 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Chris Fletcher, Jesse Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Jason Johnson, Colby Fletcher, Taylor Johnson, Katie Fletcher, Ajay Johnson, Emma Johnson, Easton Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Lucas Johnson and Nathan Johnson, all of Eagle River.

Preston has a sister, Vickie Hayes of Lacey, WA. Preston is proceeded in death by his parents, Milford (Johny) Johnson and Sallye Reed.

Along with numerous family members, Preston leaves a number of lifelong friends he's made while in Alaska.

All are welcome to attend The Celebration of Life held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Odd Man Rush Brewery in Eagle River."
