Johann Julius Becker is the oldest child of Friederich Wilhelm Becker and Foekel Doeden Meyer. He was born 1821 in Uttum, Germany. He married Grietje Janssen Alberts Kordes in 1851 in Campen, Germany. Johann worked as an arbeiter or day laborer in the area of Uttum. Johann and Grietje were the parents of three boys and two girls. All of their children came to the United States. Johann died in 1877 just two years before his wife and youngest two children left for the United States.
