"Terralee "Terri" Folkerts February 27, 1946 - October 02, 2016

A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Grace Church, Algona, with Pastor Peter Talbot officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Grace Church, Algona.

Terralee Jean "Terri" Folkerts, the daughter of Elmer Elvin Hauenstein and Nellie Hazel Sankey was born on February 27, 1946, in Algona. Growing up she attended both the Irvington and Algona schools, graduating from Algona High School.

Terri was a devoted and hard working mother. She was always there for them and often placed others needs before her own. At times she would miss her children's activities because she was hard at work, ensuring her family had what they needed. Terri was also a kind and forgiving person, filled with compassion. Her grandchildren always put a smile on her face and were very special to her.

Terri enjoyed camping, watching westerns, occasionally going to the casino and sitting by a fire. For the past several years she worked as an in-home caregiver and also worked at Exceptional Opportunity.

Terralee "Terri" Folkerts, died on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at the age of 70.

She is survived by her children, Joella Lieder, Bonita (Bob) Schissel, Mellissa Folkerts, Krista (Richard) Wait and Cory (Amanda Murray) Folkerts; her grandchildren; mother, Nellie Hauenstein and her sisters, Nelvinea Seiler and Gwen Poutre.

She was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents; father Elmer Hauenstein; sisters, Geraldine "Gerry" Hauenstein and Suzanne Hauenstein; brothers Phillip Hauenstein and an infant boy.
