Dollie Mary Kardoes was born on April 27, 1910, near Lakota, Iowa. She received her education in the country school in Ramsey Township. After her schooling, Dollie worked for her neighbors doing house cleaning, babysitting and various other jobs. She was married to Anton Kardoes on February 1, 1928, at Blue Earth, Minnesota. The couple lived most of their married life in the Bancroft and Swea City area. Dollie was a homemaker and enjoyed all of the challenges of raising a large family.
Dollie and Anton moved into Titonka, Iowa in 1961. Her husband preceded her in death on July 23, 1975.
Dollie enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, sewing and any craft work. She also loved to knit and crochet and made all of her daughters and daughters-in-law tablecloths and also made afghans for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dollie became a resident of the Titonka Care Center in November of 1998. She died there on Monday, October 17, 2005 at the age of 95.
Dollie is survived by her children; Velma Dontje and husband, Arnold, Buffalo Center, Iowa, William Kardoes and wife, Arlene, Stockton Missouri, LaVonne McVey, Tacoma, Washington, H. Frank Kardoes and wife, Beverly, La Grange, Georgia, Oliver "Rusty" Kardoes and wife, Lanita, Titonka, Iowa and Tom Kardoes and wife, Jennifer, Titonka, Iowa. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Dollie was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine A. Bishop, her husband Anton, 2 daughters, Wilmadean Kardoes in infancy and Johanna Frerichs in 2001, her son Gary Kardoes in 2003, her grandson, Richard Donovan Dontje, her half sister, Annabess Bell, and her half brother, Richard Bishop [Jacob Richard Bishop]

Dollie Kardoes
Funeral services for Dollie M. Kardoes, 95, will be Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Titonka. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dollie Mary Kardoes was born on April 27, 1910 near Lakota. She received her education in the country school in Ramsey Township. After her schooling, Dollie worked for her neighbors doing house cleaning, babysitting and various other jobs. She was married to Anton Kardoes on Febraury 1, 1928, at Blue Earth, MN. The couple lived most of their married life in the Bancroft and Swea City Area. Dollie was a homemaker and enjoyed all of the challenges of raising a large family.

Dollie and Anton moved into Titonka, in 1961. Her husband preceded her in death on July 23, 1975.

She enjoyed reading, gardening canning, sewing and any craft work. She also loved to knit and crochet and made all of her daughters and daughters-in-law tablecloths, and also made afghans for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dollie became a resident of the Titonka Care Center in November of 1998. She died there on Monday, October 15, 2005.
