Obituary of Richard Wolthuis
Richard Charles Wolthuis was born November 8, 1941 in Spencer, Iowa the son of Martin and Cleo (Kohn) Wolthuis. Richard was raised and educated in Spencer.

Richard was united in marriage to Karen Schoorman on August 3, 1964 in Spencer. The couple made their home in Terrace Park in the city of West Okoboji.

Rich worked general construction as a heavy equipment operator, until he became disabled twenty years ago. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved farming and watching his farms produce.

Richard passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa at sixty-nine years of age.

He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Wolthuis, wife, Karen Wolthuis, daughter, Bobbi Wolthuis, brother, Jim Wolthuis and several uncles and aunts.

Surviving are his mother, Cleo Wolthuis; son Mike Wolthuis and his wife Kristi; grandchildren, Tyler Wolthuis, Jared Wolthuis and Kelsey Wolthuis; great-grandchildren, Mira Wolthuis, Deakin Clark and Camdon Wolthuis; special friend, Dori Beck; aunts, Clara Feaster and Darlene Herrin, cousins and other family."
