"Albert Howe
McCLURE - Former Farmers State Bank president Albert R. Howe, 89, Route 5, Napoleon, died early Monday at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 6, 1897, in Damascus Tp., Henry County, the son of Charlie and Agnes Mae (Hillis) Howe. On Nov. 22, 1923, he married Ollie Shuler, who survives.

He was a retired farmer; former director and president of the Farmers State Bank in McClure and worked at the office for 10 years. He was also a Damascus Tp. trustee, a justice of the peace, former secretary to the Grelton Farmers Elevator for 25 years, was director of the Tri-County Rural Electric Assn., a director of the Henry County Mutual Insurance Co., a trustee of the Henry County Historical Society, a trustee of the Grelton Cemetery Assn., a member of the Knights of Pythias, Grelton, the Grelton Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War I.

He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Francis (Mary Agnes) Hockenberry, Napoleon; one half sister, Mrs. Grant (Clarabel) Rhodes, Youngstown; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son in 1959.

Services will be Thursday at 1:20 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure, with Rev. Rbert Damschorder officiating. Burial will be in Grelton Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home is after 7 p.m. today, all day Wednesday, and until time of services Thursday.
