ROLAND, IA -- Harold R. Reece, 78, of Roland, died of complications of cancer on Wednesday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City, burial in Sheppard Cemetery rural Union.

Mr. Reece was born at New Castle, Indiana, and had lived in Union, Jewell, and Belmond before moving to Roland 14 years ago. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; a son, Jerry of Ackley; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Frandson of Story City and Janet Nail of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; four sisters; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home. Story City in charge of arrangements.
