Obituary for Roger James Heetland

Roger J. Heetland, 70, of Ackley, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home, under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. Memorial services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, rural Ackley. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, June 13 at the Woodley Funeral Home. Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for the family.

Roger James Heetland was born on January 5, 1947 in Eldora, Iowa to Paul and Goldie (Roeske) Heetland. He graduated from Ackley High School and attended Iowa State University. On September 23, 1969 he was united in marriage to Kathy Reisinger at their home in Ackley. Roger had a true passion for the family farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy Heetland of Ackley, Iowa; sons, Rick (Cassie) Heetland of Ackley, Iowa and Chad (Maria) Heetland of Ackley, Iowa; a daughter, Krystal (Richard) Haskell of Clinton, Iowa; grandchildren: Calli Murray, Hannah Heetland, Andrew Heetland, Faith Schultz, Ashton Haskell, Zarek Haskell and Alli Haskell. He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Dawn Heetland; nephew, Greg Heetland; mother and father in-law, Dick and Norma Reisinger as well as aunts and uncles.
