According to Clarence A. Navorska, her family were "Landseurs." They lived 4 (or 12) miles outside Berlin. Her brother inherited the estate. He squandered it through heavy drinking.

I have several spellings for Minnie's surname, but this one is on her dc.

Family tradition as told by Clarence Navorska is the Modjeski family drove to church in a coach drawn by four horses.
