Modder, Henry - Evelyn Hinsch Goodwill

Henry of (Heinie) was the son of Harm and Mary Julius Modder and he served in the Army during World War II in the 5th Calvary [sic - Cavalry] in Seendal, Japan. He farmed and drove truck for Koerselman Trucking. Heinie was a town police officer, worked at the school and was a bus driver for 32 years.

He married Evelyn Hinsch. She also worked at the school for a number of years. Their children are Harm, Mike (m. Barbara Gronewold) and Mary (m. Ward Schere and he is deceased).

Evelyn's two sons were Roy and Gary.

After Evelyn's death, he married Marian Kruger. They were divorced."

Little Rock, IA

Marian Kruger, age 87 of Little Rock, IA died Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 6th at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock with Rev. Scott Burdsall officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Little Rock.

Visitation will be Sunday July 5th at the First Presbyterian Church from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Marian (Thiesse) Kruger was born September 6, 1927, the daughter of Esther (Symens) and Fred Thiesse. Marian grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1944 at the age of sixteen. She worked for an attorney in Spencer before returning to Sibley in 1946, when she started working for Drs. Bosch and Carroll.

On March 16, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harlan Kruger. Along with working she raised her family of four, Jo Linn, Dan, Pat and Robert. Marian's husband died unexpectedly on July 11, 1980. In 1987 she married Henry Modder. He died in 2002. She was a longtime and active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. She enjoyed spending time with her family and also with her church family and friends. This past Thursday afternoon July 2, 2015, Marian died at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA at the age of eighty-seven.

She is lovingly remembered by her four children; Jo Linn (Herman) Kramer of Adrian, MN; Dan (Lesa) Kruger of Sibley, IA; Pat DeBerg of Fairmont, MN and Robert (Debbie) Kruger of Matlock, IA; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol (Carl) Shelton; brothers-in-law, Elwood Karson Kruger and Richard Wilsey.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward and LaVerle Thiesse and one sister, Dorothy Hassebroek.
