Ruth D. Vogel, 86, of 253 E. Fifth St., El Paso, died at 4 a.m. Monday (Dec. 27, 2010) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Mrs. Vogel was born Sept. 12, 1924, at Minonk, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Gollon Cabal. She married Gilbert C. Vogel on June 24, 1944, at Benson. He survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marcia; three brothers; and three sisters.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a charter member of the El Paso VFW Auxiliary.

Ruth was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends. She loved playing cards, doing needlework and making floral arrangements as gifts.

She gave freely of her time and her heart. She was her husband's best buddy and will be sadly missed by all.
