"Funeral Services Held August 24 For Frank Elwood

Funeral services for Frank Stanford Elwood, 85, were held Thursday, August 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Edward Tschetter officiating. Interment was in Graceland cemetery with Winter Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Randy Elwood, Duane Elwood, Gregory Elwood, Roger Elwood, Galen Elwood and Carroll Elwood.

Mr. Elwood passed away Tuesday, August 22, at Grobaven Nursing Home in Forest City where he had been a resident for a number of years.

He was born October 5, 1886 to Henry and Sarah Henderson Elwood at Floyd, Iowa. He was Married December 19, 1906 [fortasse 1908] to Mary Schaefer, who passed away in July of 1956.

He had farmed in the Buffalo Center-Thompson area most of his life until retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Buffalo Center.

Survivors include five sons, Homer of Zumbrota, Minnesota, Neil of Thompson, Robert of Joice, Gerald of Amery, Wisconsin and Verle of Buffalo Center; one daughter, Mrs. Emil (Dorothy) Kallestad of Rake; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Sill of Waterloo."
