August H. Nerdig, a longtime resident of the Rake community, died last Thursday at Buffalo Center hospital as the result of a stroke.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center. The Rev. Henry Van Der Schaaf officiated, and burial was in Graceland cemetery.

Pall bearers were Roger Nerdig, Keith Legried, Vernon Jacobson, Lyle Matson, Carroll Gullord and Raemon Wubben. Special music was provided by Alroy Krull, soloist.

Mr. Nerdig, a son of Adam and Maria (Kushel) Nerdig, was born Aug. 26, 1898, at Iowa Falls. On Jan. 14, 1925, he was married to Feme Wentworth at Forest City, who survives him.

Other survivors include three sons, Dale of Forest City, Harvey of Buffalo Center and Larry of Forest City, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lena Lange of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Ed (Elizabeth) Bosma of Buffalo Center.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center. Preceding him in death were, his parents, a son, a daughter and a brother, Henry.
