"Eilert Boyken Of Titonka Dies at 82

TITONKA - Eilert Boyken, 82, of Titonka, a retired farmer, died at the Titonka Care Center, Friday, Feb. 8.

Born Oct. 8, 1891 at Grundy Center, Ia., Eilert Boyken was a son of Henry and Louise Plaisier Boyken. He married Charlotte Mayland at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Titonka Feb. 21, 1918. The couple farmed until his retirement in October of 1948. Mr. Boyken had been a resident of the Titonka Care Center for the past nine months.

His is survived by his wife and one son, Elmer, Buffalo Center. Three brothers and a sister also survive: John, Titonka; Fred, Albert Lea, Minn.; Dick Armstrong; and Helen Boyken, Titonka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services for Mr. Boyken were held at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Titonka, with Rev. Herbert Hanson of the Good Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Bural was in the German Township Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Roger Boyken, Dean Boyken, Delmer ..."
