Donald Golden, 69, of Stanhope, died Wednesday afternoon, August 1, at the Story County Hospital in Nevada where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had previously been at the Stratford Care Center for 18 months.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bethesda Lutheran church with Rev. Larry Choat officiating and with burial at the cemetery east of Kamrar.

There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday at the Becker Funeral home.

Donald Golden was born Dec. 19, 1914 at Princeton, Mo., the son of Frank and Luella King Golden.

On Nov. 12, 1940, he married Clarice Klaver at Blairsburg, and they farmed in the Jewell, Blairsburg and Kamrar area. He also worked at the Jewell elevator until retiring in 1974 because of ill heath.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Vivian) Swenson of Radcliffe and Mrs. Bob (Viola) Miller of Roland; one son, Larry Golden of Clarion; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ross Ward of Joplin, Mo., and Delca Jasson,Eugene, Ore., and a brother, Ray Golden of Spikard, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, two other brothers, George and Claude Golden, and one sister, Grace Golden.

He was a member of the Kamrar community Church."
