"Last Rites Held Saturday, Oct. 16 For Harold Berven

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 16, at 1:30 p.m. for Harold I. Berven, 34, of Britt, who was killed instantly Tuesday, October 12, when the semi he was driving lit a utility pole at North Bergen, New Jersey.

Services were held at the Methodist church in Britt with the Rev. Warren Paige officiating. The Boughton Funeral flome at Britt was in charge of arrangements and interment was n Olena Mound cemetery at Buffalo Center. The pallbearerswere Johnny Meyering, Richard Meyering, Fred Meyering, Bert Wepel, Menno Folkerts and Larry Berven. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery by the Legion and V.F.W. Posts of Buffalo Center and Legion Post of Britt.

Harold Berven was born August 23, 1931, the son of Hawkin and Inger Hoverstein-Berven at Bricelyn, Minnesota. He received his education in the Eden Township Schools of Winnebago county and at the Buffalo Center Community School. He hadserved in the Army and received his honorable discharge.

On July 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to Fannie Meyering, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Meyering. They have one daughter, Jeni Marie.

The Bervens had resided in Britt for the past three years. He formerly worked for the Britt and Crystal Lake creameries before being employed by the Ellsworth Truck Line of Eagle Grove.

Surviving are his wife and daughter; one brother, Al Berven of Glenville, Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. Herman (June) Wells of Hayward, California.
