"I married Richard W. 'Rich' Thompson who was born and raised in Lake Mills, Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1925 and served four years, mostly in Nicaragua. After his discharge, he came to Buffalo Center where he livedand worked with his brother, Cliff, who owned a drayline.

We had five children who also graduated from Buffalo Center High School. ... ... Carol is married to Michael Miressi and they live in Mustang, Oklahoma; they have three daughters: Tammy, Kristina, and Ruth.

Rich worked for both Standard and Co-op filling stations before goint to work for Winnebago County, a position he held until his retirement. We enjoyed fishing while raising our family, and celebrated our golden wedding anniversaryquietly in September, 1985 due to his failing health. Rich passed away in mid-December of 1985, having reached his 80th birthday.

Besides our five children we have a 'following' of 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grands. ..."
