Funeral services for Jeanette Wempen, 93, were held on Wednesday, March 31, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Bergman officiating. Interment was at Olena Mound Cemetery with Winter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Vera Bronleewe was the organist and Judy Junkermeier was the soloist. The congregation participated hi the singing of a hymn. Honorary casketbearers were Mike Wempen, Dave Wempen, Sara Jones, Deb Reiland, Lori Tammeus, Paul Wempen, RyanWempen, Kris Drevlow, Robb Wempen, Erik Magelee and Nick Magelee. Casketbearers were Dave Grimes, Duane Feldick, Dick Jensvold, Dale Wempen, Tun Weaver, and Tim Berschman.

Jeanette Wempen, daughter of Lube and Sena (Ackerman) Lubben, was bom March 27, 1906 at Buffalo Center.

On February 11, 1932, Jeanette was united in marriage to Amos Wempen in Buffalo Center. Together they farmed north of Buffalo Center and raised a family of three boys, Richard, Rollin and Royce.

Her family was her priority. She dearly loved her own children and her grandchildren. Jeanette was also a warm and caring homemaker. She canned what Amos grew hi the garden. She was a life-long resident of Buffalo Center. She was alife-time member of First Baptist Church and was active in the Mission Band. Jeanette also enjoyed the neighborhood birthday club.

Jeanette passed away on Sunday, March 28, 1999 at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Amos, of Buffalo Center; three sons: Richard and his wife, Rita of Clear Lake; Rollin and"

"his wife, Kathy of Fairmont, Minnesota; Royce and his wife, Linda of St. Peter, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; Mike and Julie Wempen, Dave and Molly Wempen, Jason and Sara Jones, Eric and Deb Reiland, Dane and Lori Tammeus, Paul Wempen,Ryan and Diane Wempen, Matt and Kris Drevlow, Robb Wempen; Eric Magelee and Nick Magelee; seven great-grandchildren: Luke, Matt, Katie, Ross, Randall Wempen, Tyler Caruth and AH Reiland. Jeanette is also survived by four sisters: JennyAnderson of Cedar Falls, Frances Aukes of Titonka, Lydia Gruis of Buffalo Center, Arlene Ostercamp of Titonka; a brother, Envin Miller of Sulfer, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Esther Lubben of Forest City, several nieces, nephews and manydear friends."
