Note: William reportedly was one of the first white children born in Troy, Oakland Co., MI. He moved sometime in the late 1850's to Ellington, Tuscola County, Michigan, where he was one of the first settlers. He died of disease inWashington, D.C. where he was buried. The family later had his body moved and buried in Highland Cem.

William and Dorothy had seven children. The first three died very young.
