"Albertus and two brothers, Richert and my great Grandfather Lammert, were awol from the Prussian Army. They took their grandmother's name, Sterrenberg/borg, and came to the U.S. Albertus and Stentje had six children, Eka, Fred, Fokko,Harm A., Gesine, and Yietje. (Stentje was very sick and died, leaving Albertus to raise the six children. The three brothers lived in Illinois for a time, and then moved to Grundy Center, Iowa. Richert and Lammert were asked to beguardians of Albertus' youngest children because Albertus became very ill. I have a copy of the will for Stentje giving each child money. I had it translated by a German friend."
