Note: Mr. and Mrs. Johannes J. Meester were born in Grundy County. They were married March 13, 1901. Mr. Meester was the son of Jacob Meester and Antje Everts Meester. He was born April 26, 1871. He had six brothers and four sisters.Mrs. Meester was the daughter of Henry and Trientje J. Klaassen Meester. She was born March 2, 1880. She had four s isters and five brothers.

After their marriage they settled on a 160 acre farm one and one-fourt h miles north of the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church or six miles sout hwest of Parkersburg, IA. They were blessed with eight daughters andt wo sons. They resided onthe same farm during their lifetime. Whenth ey retired from farming, they built their second home on their farm. They were able to observe their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 1961.Theyliv ed on their farm until their passing. Mr. Meester,at the age of 91 y ears, 7 months and 19 days, died December 15, 1962. Mrs. Meester, at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 7 days, died January 9, 1970.
