Note: Margaret Ackerman, age 79 of Sibley, IA died Sunday, September 23, 2007, at the Country View Manor in Sibley, IA.

Memorial service will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 26th at the First Reformed Church in Sibley, with Rev. Gary Van Heukelom officiating.

Burial will be private for family prior to the memorial service in the Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25th from 2 – 8 PM with the family present from 6 – 8 PM at the Walton-Roste Funeral Home of Sibley.

Margaret M. Ackerman was born October 4, 1927, to Abe M. and Katherine (Kruse) Heronemus. She attended country school through the 8th grade and attended Sibley School where she graduated in 1945. Margaret married Kenneth Ackerman on March7, 1951 in Little Rock, Iowa. She worked at Priebes for a short time after marriage. She taught Sunday school and helped with the work groups at Trinity Reformed Church, Sibley, IA. Reading was a favorite past time. Family was veryimportant to her. She tried to get to as many events of the children and grandchildren she could. She is currently a member of the First Reformed Church, Sibley, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children, Keith (Pearl) Ackerman of Hartley, Kelly (Julie) Ackerman of Sibley, Marcia (Dick) Oldenkamp of Allendorf, Dean (Michelle) Ackerman of Sibley, Daryl (Julie) Ackerman of Circle Pines, MN,Marjo (Randy) Taarud of Worthington, MN and Marlys (Scott) Dykstra of Sibley; 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Nannie Mae Kanengieter, Centennial, CO, and sister-in-law, Myrna Heronemus, Ashton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Elmer Heronemus; and brother-in-law, Ralph Kanengieter.
