Geerdes, Harm - Viola Bush

Harm was the son of George and Grace Eilders Geerdes and he married Viola Bush. The couple farmed near Little Rock for a few years and then moved southeast of town. In retirement they moved into George. They were faithful members of Lyon County First Presbyterian Church.

"Jannsen, Detmer - Amanda Van Briesen

Detmer was one of ten children of John and Geske Kruger Janssen. He attended schools in Lyon County and after his schooling, worked on the farm with his father.

He married Amanda, who was one of five children of Leonard and Harmky Ackerman Van Briesen. She attedned country school.

The couple began farming his father's farm, which is located northeast of George. They faithfully attedned Zoar Presbyterian Church where amanda was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

To this union two children were born: Daryl (m. Beverly Bruns) and Donna (m Glennis Geerdes)

After Detmer's death, Amanda moved into George. She worked at Vogelaar Furniture Store and at the Decorator."
