Note: Hannah K. Koenen, 77, formerly of Sheffield and Meservey, died on Monday, July 11, 2005, at the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 14, at the First Reformed Church in Meservey, with interment in the Meservey Cemetery.

Hannah Kathern, was born on August 28, 1927 at Rowan, the daughter of Chris and Anna (Freeks) Stadtlander. Her parents died when she was young and she was raised by her aunts and uncles. Hannah attended the Rockford Public Schools. Shemarried Herman W. Koenen on August 27, 1944 and they farmed in the Meservey area until retiring to Sheffield in 1974. She moved to Woodlawn, Tennessee in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (1998); and brothers, Bennie, John and Lambert Stadtlander.

Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie (Max) Mitchell of Woodlawn, Tennessee; sisters, Leona Floden of Texas, Minnie Meints of Texas, Doris Koch of California, Annalein Andrews of Webster City and Delores Bahnsen of Rockford.
