Effie Bahmuller, age 89, of Emery, SD died Sunday, December 23, 2001 at the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater, SD. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 at First Baptist Church in Emery. Burial will be in the Emery CommunityCemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 3-8:00 p.m. at the Hettinger-Bittner Funeral Chapel in Emery.

Effie Schoon was born Feb. 11, 1912 at rural Olivet, SD to John and Anna Groen Schoon. She grew up on the farm and attended country school. She was a cook in the Corner Cafe in Parkston for numerous years and she also did babysitting. OnFeb. 11, 1941 she married Edward Bahmuller. She made her profession of faith in 1943 and on April 9, 1944 she was baptized by Rev. Arthur Itterman and then joined the First Baptist Church in Emery. They farmed southwest of Emery, SD until they retired in the fall of 1975 and then moved into Emery. She became a resident of the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater in July 2001. Edward died January 24, 1986.

She is survived by two sons: Larry Bahmuller of Emery, SD; Dale Bahmuller and wife Mary of Madison; two grandchildren: Bobbi Jo Kyte of Omaha, Nebraska and Jeremy Bahmuller of Madison, SD; and one sister, Angeline Herman and husbandRudolph of Mitchell, SD.
