Note:

Mom remembers True as being a "gruff old man with a round face". She said he used to visit Aunt Ruth and Grandma Schumacher (Faith) quite often at their home on Berley road. He and his second wife Bessie, used to have a boarding house inCleveland. Bess ran it for a while after True died. Bess also worked at Higbees and Mom liked her a lot.

During the war, T. E. collected money from the neighbors to buy sugar. He went to Louisiana and squandered all of the money.

Per Mom: Roy Schumacher considered T. E. the black sheep of the family and wouldn't have anything to do with him.

Truman and Bessie are listed on the 1930 Ohio Federal Census living on E. 75th St. in Cleveland, 22nd Ward, Cuyahoga County. Ancestry.com image number 28. Truman E.-age 52, born in Ohio, married at age 42, salesman-lamp factory Bessie-age 35, born in Michigan, married at age 23

Truman was living in Toledo and Bessie in Alliance when they applied for their marriage license. They were married by John Blake, Justice of the Peace. Witnesses were P C Barnhart and Marie Rankin.

WWI Draft Registration Card has middle name as Edgar. Have also seen middle name as Enos.
