Emigrated from Germany to U.S.A. in 1881.

Resided on a homestead with his parents in 1881.

'Herman Runge -- the son of Carl, Sr. came from Germany in 1881 with his parents. He married Amelia Schneck __ about 1896. They farmed west of George across from the Glennis Geerdes farm. The buildings are no longer there. They movedinto town when he retired.

Their children were John (married Elsid Habeck); George (married Opal Green); Robert (married Elizabeth Scharlip(gs?)); Freda (Mrs. Dan Gruis); Amelia (married Bert Bikstall); and Herman (Married Manda Lunes.)'
