Denton Ober Baumbarger, 68, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the Hospice Home. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Wilbur D. Baumbarger and Opal Marguerite Longnecker "Margie" Baumbarger, who survives. Denton was the husband to Betty Schwartz Baumbarger for 45 years, who survives. Denton was a retired biologist supervisor with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, a lifetime member of the NRA, Pheasants Forever, Henning U.M.C. in Henning, MN and attended Bethel U.M.C. in Burlington, NC. He was also a member of the Rod & Gun Club in Henning and the American Legion Post 63 in Burlington. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors other than his wife, Betty and his mother, Margie include his daughter, Janis Baumbarger; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Danielle Baumbarger; grandson, Grady Daniel Baumbarger; special son, John Boswell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Brenda Baumbarger, David and Ruth Baumbarger. The memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Burlington, NC by Rev. Stewart A. Crank Sr. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington and other times at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Denton Baumbarger's name to Pheasants Forever, 1783 Buerkle Circle, St. Paul, MN 55110.You may sign the online register book at: www.lowefuneralhome.com
