James "Bummy" A. Baumbarger, 61, of Weston, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006 at his residence. James was born September 4, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Lewis and Hazel (Shultz) Baumbarger. James was a wonderful father and grandfather his greatest joy was helping others and spending time with his family. The last few months of his life, many stories were shared and each story was full of laughter and love. Jim always wanted a big family which he accomplished. James married Jacquline Adams and she preceded him in death on August 5, 1989. Jacquline is the mother of James' three sons, Scott, Rusty and Dustin. James later married Mary Jo Halladay on November 15, 2003 in Weston, Ohio and she brought with her three daughters, Kathy, Cindi and Christie. James worked as a Heavy Machine Operator at G.M. Sader Excavating for 25 years. He also served in the United States Army where he was awarded the purple heart in the Vietnam War. James was a life member of V.F.W. post 1148 and AmVets post 911 both of Bowling Green and American Legion Post 409 of Weston. James is survived by his wife Mary Jo; three (3) sons, Scott (Shanna) Baumbarger of Weston, Ohio, Rusty Baumbarger of Weston, Ohio and Dustin Baumbarger of Bowling Green, Ohio; three (3) daughters, Kathy (Kenny) Oldham of Weston, Ohio, Cindi (Jim) Schultz of Maumee, Ohio and Christie (John) Hunsinger of Toledo, Ohio; six (6) sisters, Carol Hummel of North Baltimore, Ohio, Peggy Hummel of Bairdstown, Ohio, Alice Hummel of Fostoria, Ohio, Barbara Huether of Hugo, Oklahoma, Joanne Boyer of North Baltimore, Ohio and Linda Edrington of Annona, Texas; three (3) brothers, Dick Baumbarger of Delaware, Maryland, Lewis Baumbarger Jr. of Fostoria, Ohio and George "Joe" Baumbarger of Grand Rapids, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Hazel Baumbarger and first wife Jacquline. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 218 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, Ohio, where services will be conducted at 7:00 PM, by the Joint Veteran Post of Wood County. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. A private burial service will be held at Wood County Memory Gardens.
