Miss Linda Albers was the honored guest at a miscellaneous shower given by Marilyn Helmers and her mother, Mrs. Richard Helmers, at the Helmers home Saturday evening. Twelve classmates were guests, also mothers of the bride and groom-to-be, Mrs. Edwin Albers and Mrs. Art Steinberg.

The honored guest was the recipient of many beautiful and useful gifts."

"Albers-Steinberg Wedding Vows Spoken Nov. 27 1965

Nuptial vows were spoken Saturday, November 27, by Linda Beth Albers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Albers of Buffalo Center, and Gary Steinberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Steinberg of. Buffalo Center. The double ring service took place at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Buffalo Center with Rev.. E. W. Lechtenberg officiating. At the altar were bouquets of white and purple mums. Mrs. Lloyd Thorsheim of Leland furnished the organ music and Mrs. Loren Koppand Miss Mary Gauley sang "Heart of Jesus" and "On This Day, Oh Beautiful Brother." The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white taffeta gown featuring a lace top and sleeves, which came to a point at the wrist, and a fullskirt. Her short veil was held in place by a jeweled crown. She carried a bouquet of white and purple mums centered with a corsage.

Attending the bride was an aunt, Carol Higgens of West Bend, as the maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Gene Nelson of Manson, sister of the groom, and Teresa Kennedy of Bancroft, cousin of the bride. All wore orchidstreet-length, flowered taffeta dresses with orchid net pillbox veils .and crystal necklaces, gifts of the bride. Each carried one large white mum. Mary Kennedy of Bancroft cousin of the bride, and Mark Nelson of Manson, nephew of thegroom, were flower girl and ring bearer respectively.

Serving the groom as best man was his brother, Larry Steinberg of Iowa Falls, and groomsmen were Greg Iverson a nephew of the groom of Graettinger, and Michael Albers brother of the bride of Buffalo Center. Merrill Albers of Buffalo Center, an uncle of the bride and Jim Iverson, brother-in-law of the groom of Graettinger ushered the guests. The groom and his groomsmen wore white dinner jackets and black trousers with white mum boutonnieres. The bride's mother chosea royal blue suit for the occasion and the groom's mother wore a blue suit. The grandmother of the bride was attired in a blue dress and all three ladies wore white mum corsages. A reception was given for 12 guests by the bride's parentsin the St. Patrick's parish hall after the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Field of Ankeny were the dining room host and hostess and also presided at the punch bowl.

Marilyn Koestler registered the guests in the guest book and opening and displaying the gifts were Marilyn Helmers, Jane Higgins and Pam Iverson. Waitresses were Dana Dee Hartman, Elaine Hassebroek, Sharon Gruis and Jane Higgins. Mrs.George Steinberg and Mrs. Merrill Albers cut and served the wedding cake.

The bride is a graduate of the Buffalo Center Community High School and is attending the Mason City School of Cosmetology at Mason City. The groom is a graduate of the Buffalo Center Community High School and is employed at Walker DeLuxe Products at Lake Mills. The couple is at home in an apartment in Lake Mills."
