JOHN KORTE, 86 PASSES AT WODEN FUNERAL THURS

WODEN - John Korte Sr. died Thuesday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of his dughter, Mrs. Jacob Kurtzleben, following an illness of about eight weeks. He was 86 years of age.

Mr. Korte was born at Wymeer, Germany, and was united in marriage in 1886. In 1893 they came to America and lived on a farm at Aplington, Iowa, previous to moving to a farm in Hancock county near Woden. Since 1913 they lived in Woden.

Surviving Mr. Korte are his wife, who is ill and past 87 years of age; four sons, Albert of Parkersburg, Henry of Titonka, John of Buffalo Center and Fred of Woden; five daughters, Mrs. Jacob Kurtzleben of Woden, Mrs. Henry Schroeder ofGarner, Mrs. Orville Hetzler of Moulton, Iowa. Mrs. Arend Swalve of Lakota and Mrs. Spencer FAville of Des Moines. One sister, Mrs. Harm Huisinga of Woden also survives, and forty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p. m. at the Korte residence, followed with services at the Presbyterian church, with the pastor, Rev. Henry Kruse in charge.

Burial will be in Bingham township cemetery."
