Note: Jantje may be the daughter of Hindrik Abrams and Egbertje Egberts. Hindrik later adopted the Potter surname and is listed on page 62 of the 1815 Bellingwolde Census. Hindrik and Egbertje had a daughter named Jantje baptized inBellingwolde on 5/28/1778. This is about 6 months after Jantje's reported birthdate in the 1815 census. This Jantje is the only person with this name and a father named Hindrik for the patronymic name that was baptized in Bellingwoldeduring 1777-1778 according to Harm Selling's doopboek transcript. Jantje had a daughter named Egbertje on 4/15/1812 according to the 1815 Bellingwolde Census to provide addition evidence of the family relationship.

Note: Derk and Jantje's children baptism records in 1804, 1807 and 1809 are listed in the Bellingwolderschans Hervormde [Reformed] Church records. Their wedding records show they were born in Oudschans and were probably baptized in theclosest church. Schans is Dutch for walls, and the town names refer to the fortifications for Bellingwolde.
