Mike Huisman, age 62, formally of Webster City, passed away Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at the Benefis Medical Center in Great Falls, MT after a short battle with cancer.

Visitation with the family will be held at 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a Remembrance service at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Michael Leon Huisman, son of Harley and Luetta Huisman, was born March 28, 1951 in Story City. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1969. On March 24, 1973, he married Janet Lorree Mann in Webster City. Mike and Janet raised their kids on a beautiful farm south of Webster City where they farmed corn and soybeans, and raised hogs and turkeys.

Mike moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1994 with Tami Pruismann, who would be his loving partner the rest of his life. There he was a warehouse manager. In 2006 Mike and Tami bought a tavern in Highwood, Montana near Great Falls. There they enjoyed their lives serving excellent food and drink to the local community. Their Friday night steak night was known for counties around.

Mike is survived by son, Ryan Huisman of Orlando, FL; daughter Sarah (Matt) Buchannen of Pearland, TX; sisters, Connie (Dave) Olson of Littlerock, AR; Sue (Ray) Swope of San Francisco, CA; Jean Huisman of Sioux City, IA and several nieces and nephews.

Even after moving away Mike always considered himself a Webster City native. Mike will be deeply missed by many.
