Bonnie (Jones) Stoppelmoor, 73, of Hampton, died Wednesday (July 21, 2004) at the Vinton Lutheran Home in Vinton following a brief illness.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Hampton, with Pastor David Mosher officiating. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery.

There will not be a visitation. In honoring Bonnie's wishes, the casket will be closed at the church.

Overton-Van Steenhuyse Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Stoppelmoor was born on July 9, 1931, in Sheffield, daughter of Jacob Jones and Mary (Kopitar) Jones.

Bonnie grew up in Sheffield, married Sterling Howard Stoppelmoor Sr. in September of 1950 and they made their home in Hampton.

Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her seven children: Sterling (Diane) Stoppelmoor, of Grundy Center, Reggie (Wanda) Stoppelmoor, of Hampton, Cindy (Kent) Stettler, of North Ogden, Utah, Rita Wilkinson of Hampton, Patti Arends of Blue Earth, Minn., Gina Stoppelmoor of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Valerie (Martin) Wiley, of Norway, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; six sisters; and one brother; nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, one brother, Carroll; and one sister, Alice; and four brothers-in-law.
