"Martha Thornburg April 30, 1958-August 7, 2010

MARTHA ANNE THORNBURG, age 52 of Woodbridge, Virginia died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends.

Martha was born April 30, 1958 in Rocky River, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank W. and Iris Mae (Davenport) Bowles. She attended Indiana State University and Purdue University and was a member of Manassas Church of Christ, Manassas, Virginia.

Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Jon E. Thornburg; three children, Jessica M. Thornburg, Andrea R. Thornburg and James A. Thornburg all of Woodbridge, Virginia; two sisters, Judy Morgan and husband Mark of Jacksonville, Florida and Laurie Bowles of Lafayette, Indiana; one brother, Frank W. Bowles of Indianapolis, Indiana and extended family in the Mooreland, Indiana area.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Manassas Church of Christ, 8110 Signal Hill Road, Manassas with Barry Bryson, Minister officiating. Interment will be private.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of flowers, or contributions to Gideons, P.O. Box 1085, Manassas, Virginia 20108 or Prince William County Animal Shelter, 14807 Bristow Road, Manassas, Virginia 20112 in loving memory of Martha A. Thornburg.
