Mrs. Arlene D. Lucas - 1606 Bacon Road, Portage, passed away, Friday (Sept 3, 1971) evening at Borgess Hospital. She was born August 12, 1923 in Clare, Michigan, daughter of Julius and Florence Hunt. She was a graduate of Clare, MichiganHigh School and attended the U. of M. School of Nursing. She was a secretary at Lake Center Elementary School in Portage and had lived in Portage for 20 years. She was active in Boy Scouts of America, the Little League of Portage and thePortage Association of Educational Secretaries. Survived by: her husband, Charles; two son, James of Royal Oak and Charles Jr. of Portage; two sisters, June Alwood of Ypsilanti and Margaret Mello of Indianapolis. Religious services willbe held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Truesdale South Chapel, Portage, Rev. Alton Mills officiating. Interment, Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery.
