Obituary: BOYER, Harold Russell, 85, of 436 Hollingsworth Road, Woodstock, formerly of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, November 18, 1999 at the Susan B. Miller Nursing Home in Woodstock. A private graveside service will be held atThornrose Cemetery in Staunton. The Rev. Dr. Louis Skidmore will officiate. Mr. Boyer was born June 14, 1914 in Woodstock, son of the late George Russell and Olive French Locke Boyer. He attended Woodstock High School, Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock and Washington and LeeUniversity. He was a Master Sergeant in the Army Infantry and fought in the "Battle of the Bulge". He was a Retired Deputy U.S. Marshall serving the Western District of Virginia From 1940-1971. He was a member of Woodstock UnitedMethodist Church and a member of Edinburgh VFW #2447. He was married to the late Reba Wilson Boyer. Surviving are his sister, Miriam Boyer Parsons, of Natural Bridge; three nephews; and two nieces. Memorial contributions may be made tothe Woodstock Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 221, Woodstock, Va. Arrangements by Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock where friends may call from 9 to 5 on Monday, November 22, 1999.
