"28 February, 1907 David Zimmerman was born in Somerset Co., Pa, Sep 3, 1823. When 4 years of age came with his parents to Wayne Co., Ohio and in 1839 to Fulton Co., to Fulton Co., where he spent the remainder of his days, having livedon the present farm 40 years and departed this life Feb. 22nd 1907. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary J. Valentine, Sep. 25, 1854, who preceded him to the better land just 18 months previous. to them were born 7 children, threeof whom went to the heavenly land in their childhood. The four remaining are Orlando, Mrs. R. V. Gilbert, Mrs. C. A. Traill and Edward, all of Delta and three grandsons. The deceased was converted nearly fifty years under the labors ofRev. J. Thomas and united with the church of the United Brethren in Christ and remained a faithful member until his departure. He was active and always ready to discharge his duty as a Christian at home and abroad. He was a bible studentin Sunday School. He had at different times filled each of the offices of the class to which he belonged, formerly known as Popular Grove and now as Bethel Ridge Delta circuit N. O. Conference and gave very generously of his means forthe support of the Gospel. His home was a place of comfort and encouragement to the ministers of the Gospel, as many of the brethren of the N. O. Conference will remember and others who have already gone from labor to reward. Funeralservices were held at Bethel Ridge, Mon. Feb. 25 at 1:20 p.m. Rev. C. L. Snyder officiating. Card of thanks: We thank the kind friends and neighbors for their assistance during the sickness and death of our father, also for the flowersand ferns and the choir for the music rendered. Mr. Orlando Zimmerman, Mrs. Luella Gilbert, Mrs. Clara Traill, Mr. Edward Zimmerman."
