Cindy called Betty to let her know that her Shirley Meyer, Cindy's mom died at the Pocahontas hospital. The call came about 14:50. Shirley Meyer caught pneumonia. She did not respond to the anti-biotic medicine. He lungs filled with fluid. Her lungs could be drained but they would fill again. Tentively, a memorial service will take place at a funeral home in Highland, AR on Monday. -D.A. Navorska-xxvi Jan MMXVIII-in proximo Grove, OK.

"Shirley Meyer (October 4, 1934 - January 26, 2018)

Shirley Jean Meyer, 83, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, died peacefully Friday, January 26, 2018, at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas. She was born October 4, 1934, in Lone Rock, Iowa.

Shirley spent most of her life in Central Arkansas where she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, word searches, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her dog, Izzy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil William Meyer, and two children, Pam DeMoss and Kevin Wagner.

She is survived by nine children: Mic Sheakley of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Donna (Mike) Holt of Westcliffe, Colorado, Kelvin Wagner of Searcy, Arkansas, Karl (Ruth) Meyer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Cindy (Scott) Chandler of Pocahontas, Liz (David) Richey of Warren, Arkansas, Connie (Tommy) Estes of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, Shane (April) Meyer of Cabot, Arkansas, and Cecil (Lindsley) Meyer of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; a brother, Roger Graham; four sisters: Doris Gifford, Joyce Schrauth, Geneva Friedow, and Denise Struck; 33 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and good friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday, January 29, in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland, Arkansas.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with David Richey officiating.

Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland."
