Jeff Kosier, born Jan. 22, 1957, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He was 61 years old.

Son of Frank and Juanita Broker Kosier, Jeff was born in East Lansing, Mich. He attended University High School and graduated from West High School in 1975. Jeff received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa. He married Betsey Holzman on June 28, 1987.

Jeff cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Betsey, and their three children, Dylan (Ashton Huge), Winston (Teresa Deleon) and Addison; his granddaughter, Gia; his mother, Juanita; his siblings, Todd (Patricia Arnold) and Jacques; and his nephew, J.T.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father.

Jeff taught as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. He loved teaching and inspired countless students. Most of his teaching career was spent at Hoover Elementary School in Iowa City. In addition to teaching, Jeff enjoyed riding his motorcycle, reading and bird watching.

Jeff's family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Services in Iowa City. A celebration of Jeff's life and sharing of memories will take place at 5 p.m. In honor of Jeff, please dress casually.
