Notes about Theodorus Kapteijns

In het bevolkingsregister van de voormalige gemeente Gestel wordt voor het eerst de schrijfwijze KAPTHEIJNS.gebruikt bij zijn vader in 1881 en bij zijn zus Theodora in 1886. In 1890 wordt ook zijn naam weer correct geschreven. Bij zijn huwelijk in 1923 in Eindhoven (na de annexatie van gemeente Gestel en Blaarthem op 1 januari 1920 door de gemeente Eindhoven) wordt in de huwelijksakte zijn naam als Kaptheijns geschreven. Dit is de eerste officiële akte, waarin deze schrijfwijze plaats vindt. Hierdoor ontstaat de afwijkende schrijfwijze van de familienaam Kapteijns. De kinderen geboren uit dit huwelijk hebben allemaal de schrijfwijze Kaptheijns. Bij die aangifte van de geboorte is dus alleen gekeken naar hun trouwboekje.
Hij is 1915 vrijgesteld voor de Nationale militie wegens broederdienst. Zijn lengte is 1 meter en 730 milimeter.
In 1915 verblijft hij 5 dagen in de gevangenis van 's-Hertogenbosch. Het moet wel een zwaar delict geweest zijn. De veroordeling is het gevolg van de overtreding van het motor en rijwiel reglement. Wat die overtreding inhoudt staat niet in dat register.
